The National Assembly is the parliament of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The get together has 14 or 15 parts (contingent on circumstances), 11 of whom are chosen for a five-year term in single-seat electorates and are known as Representatives. The staying four are called Senators; three are selected by the representative general and the fourth is the lawyer general (i.e. an ex officio part).

The 1983 constitution orders no less than three representatives, or four if a lawyer general is not one of these three designated legislators. The number could be expanded by the parliament as long as it doesn’t surpass two thirds of the amount of delegates. Aside from the lawyer general, the congresspersons are delegated by the senator general, following up on the guidance of the PM in two of the errands and the pioneer of the resistance for the third one.

The parliament has a speaker and representative speaker chose by the parts of the parliament throughout its first gathering succeeding a general race. They don’t need to be parts of it; yet in the event that they are then they can’t likewise be in the bureau or parliamentary secretaries.

The current speaker of the National Assembly of Saint Kitts and Nevis is Curtis Martin, who has been in office since April 18, 2008. He succeeded Marcella Liburd.
